I Wish I Could Hit Save

<h2><em>Do you ever have a moment moment that you wish you could live in forever?</em></h2>
<p>I try and appreciate my time here on earth as much as I can. I have reflected on my weekend and my day and it has made me rather sad. I am sad because I don't know how many more of these days I will have.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Today was a day where nothing remarkable happened. I didn't win the lottery, nor did I find out an amazing piece of news. Today was a day spent at the house of one of the most important people in my life - my mum's.<br>
<br>
I don't expect this post to resonate with everyone on Steemit and I certainly don't expect to see it shoot to the top of the hot or trending page, it is merely a place for me to express how important the small things in life are.</p>
<h1>Nothing is forever.</h1>
<p>My mum is 57 years old, I know in this day and age this is relatively young however when I think about time, my conclusion is that there is never enough. Both of her parents passed in their mid 70's and my family has quite a few medical issues that I am told are hereditary. &nbsp;</p>

<p>My partner tells me not to think about things like what my life would be like without my mum because that is so far away, why worry about it now? I completely agree with her however ,while I don't want to, sometimes the ugly thoughts creep in.&nbsp;</p>
<p>My mother has been my rock and my world from the moment I was born. From kissing my forehead when I fell over to taking me food shopping when I couldn't afford to eat. I have not always been the best son, in fact there was a period of my life where I was a terrible son. However through it all my mum has still been there for me.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This weekend was a stark reminder of how I need to appreciate every moment I can with my mum.</p>
<h1>So what actually happened this weekend?</h1>
<p>Honestly, nothing much. I saw my mum on Saturday when I went to the barbers.<br>

She bought my son a new teddy. A really great one, it lights up and plays music and nature sounds to send him off to sleep.</p>

<p>I then spent a lot of time sitting out the back of her house drinking coffee and talking about anything from hurricane Irma to how to bathe my son. When little Harvey started screaming for no apparent reason, she was there to help soothe my little man to sleep in her arms.</p>

I know that even if I went and knocked on her door when I finished writing this post at roughly midnight, I would get a "what are you doing here so late?" but, I would also get a "is everything okay, come inside and I will put the kettle on."<br>

My mum is one of the best people I know. I love you mum.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>You may wonder why there is a picture of me making a pizza as my thumbnail. Well this is because I made pizza for dinner tonight. There is no other reason. </em></p>
