<div class=text-justify>Participating in interesting markets and asset classes has alway been a interest for me as I see the opportunity to leverage the irrationality that persists as many mature.  Most of it is due to the interpretations of data that are available but subject to opinions which lead to valuations that can differ widely from prices.  Even as the cryptocurrency market remains above $300 billion with about $60 billion in value trading hands every day, it is still a young and immature market which has been exciting to experience.<p>

The last two years have been full of ups and downs with volatility that I have never experienced before but interest continues to grow.  Bubbles in the past have ended with either the death of an asset class (like Tulips) or the institutionalization of it (dotcom).  Despite the survivors still being yet unknown, I think the continued volatility and growing volumes show a signal that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are here to stay and evolve the current financial markets.  However, the mystery remains as to what drives the market and its valuations.

Metrics used by many participants continue to evolve and even become contrarian in some cases.  I have remain positive about the markets but have to admit that some key indicators that I have been following have not really gone the way I had thought.  For example, the bitcoin dominance has been over 65% for some time now when it briefly went under 50% earlier this year as some major Altcoins like Litecoin and others made great progress in bouncing off the lows.  I had thought that the breach lower would mark the start of the bull market.

From a general perspective, I have been right as the market capitalization has gone from $100 billion to over $300 billion which represents a strong increase in prices.  However, it has become a bitcoin led market as the dominance has spiked once again.  while some assets have continued their strength, they have been laggards during the month of July.  I agree that bitcoin’s network effects have brought it the valuation but I find it hard to believe that others have not leveraged that interest for a larger asset class given the continued challenges that bitcoin has with scaling and use cases.

I still believe in it all as I have seen firsthand the benefits of blockchains, not only with bitcoin and Steem but other applications as well.  I have aligned my investment approach to this as I believe that it continues to be the irrational thought process of participants that has the market like this.  Therefore, I feel that bitcoin may be overvalued and Altcoins undervalued which has me adding to a few projects that have a working project with strong community support.  While I will not trade my bitcoin for them, I am just adding using another overvalued asset called fiat.

I am no expert but my experience has led me down this path and I am encouraged by the amount of headway the asset class has made in such short time.  Institutions cannot stop talking about it and others cannot avoid it so it feels as the right place to be for the future.  We must always exercise prudence but done well, we could change our lives forever!</div>
