Another month has gone by leaving us even closer to the end of a full year! The year end also brings me to my Steem anniversary as I can still remember the great vacation that not only allowed me to relax and enjoy the family in 2017 but also introduced me to finding Steem and becoming a part of the community. It is encouraging to continue to see new members of the community find their way into the ecosystem in different ways. I think it is more healthy these days as it is no longer the rush of cryptocurrencies or the promise of riches that brings us here and much less keeps us here; it is really the sense of community and engagement we achieve with each other!<p>

One of the priorities I continue to have is engaging with new users and trying to help them find their own way to onboard and find a tribe or community to engage with. While the ecosystem can be complex to understand early on, it is made much easier with the engagement of others that can surround you and lead you to learning the capabilities and flexibility the protocol has to offer for those that remain active. I enjoy reading about the diversity of many joining and their hopes of finding a place to engage with others. This defines Steem and demonstrates the value creation process we potentially have to expand globally within the technology that is blockchain.

@silver-horde is a new user to Steem that revealed in his [introduction](https://staging.busy.org/@silver-horde/my-first-post-a-bit-about-myself-on-coins-and-brief-talk-about-an-early-silver-panda) that he had first joined a Discord group from Steem called #steemsilvergold as they shared his passions about coin collecting. He highlighted a silver Panda coin with some background as he seeks to share more of his knowledge with the different communities here. He is also active in other communities outside blockchain that focus on numismatics.

Janeth or @janethsteemit is a young Venezuelen that works in Human Resources that recently [introduced herself](https://staging.busy.org/@janethsteemit/my-presentation-to-steemit) due to a local Youtuber suggesting the platform for social networking. She has never really been a writer but hopes to share her experiences and knowledge around cooking, history, and traveling. She also looks forward to learning about the platform more to expand her knowledge in general.

Ursula or @onewomanwalks is on a journey to walk across Europe! She started in Kiev and now comes to the ecosystem to share her journey as she walks towards Wales in the coming weeks and months. She [introduced](https://staging.busy.org/@onewomanwalks/introducing-myself-the-long-distance-walker) her approach with an estimated 5,500 mile route across the continent. She has used traditional social media outlets to document the journey but after meeting another pair of Steemians cycling from China, she decide to give Steem a try!

@kazer joined Steem as a school project to challenge him so he decided to create an account that will focus on blockchain games and their development. That brought him to Steem and he explains in his [introduction](https://staging.busy.org/@kazer/an-introduction-to-my-blog) that he will be reviewing a number of the games available including his interactions with some of the founders and developers. With Splinterlands being one of them, it definitely caught my attention!

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform.  I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
