It feels as if the engagement and interest around the ecosystem generated from Steemfest 4 has continued as the number of new accounts and users introducing themselves has continued to refer to projects and communities that had a presence at the event.  This continues to encourage me as it continues to expand the diversity around the platform which I believe adds value to our community.  The more perspectives we add, the more broad it can ultimately grow and attract more communities with similar goals and thoughts.  While the growth has not been at its highest, I believe that we are still truly in a pilot or test phase in order to prepare for more exposure in the future as decentralization continues to attract more of the population around the world.<p>

What will be interesting to see from here is how these communities and projects continue to retain engagement from users; both old and new.  While onboarding is now becoming a focus of many, retention is just as important.  If we consider that over 1 million accounts have been generated and only 40k engage, something continues to be missing for the potential to be fulfilled.  However, it also reminds me of the opportunity we have as a community to immediately bring back engagement and remind users why they joined in the first place.  Most could have potentially read the original whitepaper and while it has taken some time, the protocol has evolved past its origins.  In fact, we can say that we are already well beyond what was promised with a few caveats!  Steem continues to be my passion and I hope it will be that of many more arriving here today.

Daniel or @elvlogdedany is a young Venezuelen that [introduced himself](https://staging.busy.org/@elvlogdedany/hola-steemit-mucho-gusto-conoce-un-poco-acerca-de-mi-mi-introduceyourself) after being invited by fellow Steemians.  He has long had a passion for Soccer but circumstances of his personal life and family have made it difficult to continue which has allowed him to focus on his sketches and art.  He intends to share those here and become a part of the community seeking continued personal growth.

@cleanliving.now had a short and simple [introduction](https://staging.busy.org/@cleanliving.now/introducing-a-reformed-human-lets-learn-from-each-other-kc0f1oma) as he has made a goal to kick bad habits aside and has found that blogging is helping him do so and regards it as therapy.  Knowing the struggles of healthy living (especially dietary), I can relate on how focusing on our hobbies can help get us through the challenges that appear when striving for goals.

@shiphrah is a young Nigerian with many talents and passion as she shared in her [introduction](https://busy.org/@shiphrah/multiple-personality-disorder).  Among the many are music, poetry, community development and entrepreneurship.  She relates herself to being a rebel and not being traditional which is great provided the community we have here that focuses on our uniqueness and passions.  It adds to our diversity which allows us to explore the world with a digital lens.

Vanessa or @vanessadelgado has a very interesting picture to start her [introduction]](https://busy.org/@vanessadelgado/eng-esp-pole-dancer-mom-connected-with-the-moon-this-is-my-introduceyourself-mama-poledancer-conectada-con-la-luna-este-es-mi) but it caught my attention.  While her academic background was in communications, the latest stage of her life was transformed by becoming a mother.  Her interests are interesting and skills, as her picture shows, are unique.  She looks to continue to expand her knowledge and experience with the communities that surround her.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform.  I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
