It is another Friday yet again which means that it is time to say my Jummah salat in congregation. I woke up very around 5 a.m. as usual and said my fajr salat. I had to get ready as soon as possible since the time for Jummah prayers had changed. This happens from time to time based on thhe time of sunrise and the time at which the sun is high in the sky (Zenith). Based on that the time for Jummah salat was now 12:00 p.m. and so we had to leave as quickly as possible in order to join the congregation.

Needless to say, we left at 10:00 a.m. and was on the road. We saw lots of things on the way to the mosque. The first amongst them was the campaign vehicle we met. As elections is drawing closer, the major political parties have flooded the streets of Ghana and have started their various political rallies and campaigns. The one we saw was that of the opposition party, NDC who are doing everything in their power to win the hearts of Ghanaians in the upcoming elections.

The was traffic along the way but we were yet to meet the ultimate of them all, which was the one we saw at Aboabo Station. Usually the is little traffic here but this particular one so heavy that we had to asked what was going on. We were then informed by some pedestrians that there were armed robbers ahead who had shot up the place. 

We then took an alternate route through Asawase to get to the mosque. Unfortunately for us, we met another traffic. There I just said to myself, we are not going to make it in time. It turns out the traffic was a short one as a truck had broke down in the middle of the road.

We finally reached the mosque around 11:30 p.m. This means that the normal 1 hour journey was an hour and half for us today. This was still a good thing since prayer had not started just yet.

I quickly rushed to perform ablution and entered the mosque. Coronavirus is still amongst us and as such we had to observe social distancing as opposed to standing shoulder to shoulder with one another. The Imam finished with his sermon and led us in prayers. I prayed for peace for every single individual and for a peaceful and sound elections. I also prayed for good health since that is the most important thing.

By 2 p.m, we were done with salat and we all parted to our individual homes.
