For a little while our daily driver has been a little hesitant to accelerate and has run a little rough. I had some time after work tonight so I decided to try a few simple things in order to maximise the efficiency of how this car runs.

I talk about checking and cleaning the air filter,  coeaning the throttle body and inspecting the spark plughs on our Holden Barina Spark.

I tried not to labour the points so it's only about 5 minutes long.  I enjoyed getting my hands dirty again as it's been some time since I've played with a car.

Just be sure to remember a few things when playing in the engine bay

* Remove jewelry and your watch.
* Be methodical about how you take out screws and bolts, remembering qhere they go. Zip lock bags that can be labeled are are a great way to keep all the bits together.
* Use the right tool for the job. Don't cut corners with thw wrong size or an ill suited tool.
* Ensure the vehicle hasnt been run recently so that the engine bay is cool enough to touch.
* Remember to leave enought time to reassemble. Daily drivers can't be off the road for long typically.
