 Politik und Geldpolitik in Europa haben sich von den Grundsätzen verabschiedet, die in der Vergangenheit die Garanten des Erfolgs für den Kontinent waren. Die Finanzkrise und ihre nicht enden wollenden Nachbeben verleiten eine verunsicherte und überforderte Elite an den Schaltstellen der Macht dazu, ihr Heil in Staatsplanung, Intervention und Bürokratie zu suchen. Allen voran entzieht sich die Geldpolitik von Mario Draghi als Chef der Europäischen Zentralbank jeglicher Kontrolle. Auf dem Weg der Eurorettung ist sie zur ungebremsten Staatsfinanzierung degeneriert.

Das Ergebnis ist absehbar: Am Horizont zeichnet sich eine monetäre Krise und Katastrophe ab, deren Entladung historisch ihresgleichen suchen wird. Die Politik des billigen Geldes hat nicht nur eine gigantische Umverteilungsmaschine von Nord nach Süd in Gang gesetzt, sondern auch die Erträge der Banken erodiert und zur massiven, schleichenden und weitgehend unerkannten Anhäufung von Risiken in den Büchern der Kreditinstitute geführt. Diese Risiken werden sich früher oder später entladen, und ob die Banken Europas, ja sogar Europa in seiner heutigen Form dieses Ereignis überleben werden, ist keineswegs abgemacht.

Markus Krall berät seit über 25 Jahren Banken, Versicherungsunternehmen, aber auch Regierungen und multinationale Organisationen zu Themen der Strategie, des Risikomanagement und der Regulierung in über 30 Ländern auf 4 Kontinenten. In Deutschland arbeitet die Mehrzahl der Banken mit Kreditrisikosystemen, die unter seiner Federführung entwickelt wurden. Seine Vorschläge zur Lösung der Griechenlandkrise, des Dilemmas der Ratingindustrie und anderer Brennpunkte der Finanz- und Eurokrise fanden international Beachtung. Er führt sachkundig und kurzweilig durch die Materie und zeigt auf, in welchem Tümpel der »schwarze Schwan« des Crashs umherschwimmt.
