Jonathon Bahai of Peerplays.  Go check out the new [Peerplays website](http://www.peerplays.com) to see the latest updates on the Peerplays project.  When there, you will be able to stop by and check out the newest Decentralized Apps (dAPPS) that will be made available for the peerplays chain *hint, you can find out which ones in the hangout*. 

He further states that the testnet is running strong.  "The backend is solid," and that they will be continuing to work on the Graphical User Interface (GUI).  Other parallel work is being done to include work on the Application Program Interface (API) and serialization (transfer to binary, *aka computer language*).  

On the peerplays trading side, Jonathon is proud to announce that peerplays hit a high in trading volume this last week with over $80,000 trading volume on peerplays tokens!

@officialfuzzy tries to get Michael Maloney to give more details on the on-chain game that will become the epic battle grounds between the two peerplays advocates.  Michael doesn't fall for the trickery and slyly slithers around the subject (as expected).  

@brindleswan brings up the concern for peerplays as a place where addiction could run rampant as it makes gambling more accessible for the everyday person.  As such he asks about potential efforts to help curb gambling addiction.  Michael states that they have some plans behind the scenes but that he is not really in a place to be able to talk about the methodologies for achieving these aims.  However, there are many plans that he would like to give more details on in the future.

"If we are relying solely on the monetization and rewards to keep them engaged, we are going to have people leaving because it is not going to hit their expectation." ~@steemtrails

In this segment, @instructor2121 joins us to talk about the movement to help further distribute payments to the multitude of tags that exist on steem.  He cites the necessity to get community members interested in upvoting content for the sake of reading about the content they love.  He talks about the importance of creating a platform that helps people know that their content is noticed.  

He asks people to consider taking a up to 3 tags wherein they feel competent and knowledgeable, and not only curate them, but potentially give feedback and create content as well.  The thinking behind this is that if people get even a few pennies and some upvotes with limited power, they will still feel happy to have their content noticed at least as much as it would on another platform.  We must remember that being seen is as important as being paid for most people.  

So if you are interested, here is the Objective:
> The objective with Steem Trail is for the volunteers to curate the tags (topics) of their choice for quality posts to upvote and promote. They should also post to those tags and work to build community around the chosen tag.
It is a work in progress and will evolve over time. In order for a post to be chosen for upvoting it must:
- Be original content by the author
- Text and graphics should be properly cited with the source
- The post should be relevant to the subject matter
- Initially, there will be only one vote per day per author. This could change as the community develops
- Tags should be properly used.

### <center>**#3 @cm-steem of Gridcoin**</center>

@cm-steem gives mention to their weekly Gridcoin (GRC) hangouts every Saturday at 9pm UCT.  Attending these hangouts will now reward you with GRC Tokens!   Announces a partnership with @steemsports to give GRC to winners of the steemsports tournaments.  

He talks about the trading pairs being traded between GRC and its two primary trading pairs on [Open Ledger](https://openledger.info/) (BTC and BTS) and an increase in activity in these pairs.  Announces that GRC is now also on [Coinomi](https://coinomi.com/) multicryptocurrency wallet for android.  

There are currently four new polls in GRC's Decentralized Voting Tool.  Three of these polls have to do with whitelisting. Two new projects are applying [VGTU](https://boinc.vgtu.lt/) and [SRBase](https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=9873), hoping that GRC will be given to projects that push out computing power toward their goals.

"Steemprentice Mentoring Initiative is a group to essentially crowdsource help from veteran users for those that are new, frustrated, or just wanting to learn." ~@virtualgrowth

@virtualgrowth & @sykochica join us to talk about how you can get advertising in steemland by joining up for virtual steemfest.  They currently have blogs and artwork being shown in steemland currently.  @sykochica talks about the poker and gambling tables available where you can win or lose bitcoin.  Talks about adding a faucet for cryptocurrencies so new users can dive into crypto.  BTC is a good starting point, but steem is possible if help is given! If you would like to join, the prerequisite is to [download YRGrid] http://www.yrgrid.com/.  

@sykochica further talks about the potential to have the steem fest running live from the steemprentice room in beyondbitcoin mumble. Also look for @sykochica to begin running hangouts for newbies to steem to help with  the steemprentice initiative that started all the momentum for subsequent projects!

Talk a cool steem use case: Upvoting for @virtualgrowth to pay for his entry into poker tournaments.  If he loses, that is how the cookie crumbles.  If he wins?  He pays out the winnings to all participants.

@intelliguy joins us to introduce the audience to smart meter technology by a company called Zigbee.  He talks about how it can be used to automatically shut off air conditioners without you being aware.  This technology can be powerful and helpful, it runs on software that may be able to even work with blockchain technology.  He believes that blockchain technology along with this technology might be what runs the electrical grid and much more in the coming years.  There are Promoters in something called the '"Zigbee Alliance" and being a promoter gives you voting rights on all standards and a seat on the board of directors.  After some research he found the following companies were represented here: Comcast, Kroger, Philips, Texas Instruments, 3com. 
In 2010, 80% of telecoms worked with Zigbee.  Partners include: AT&T, Belkin, Blackberry, Emerson, Carrier, Cisco, General Electric, Lowes, Panasonic, Sony, Hersheys.
@intelliguy moves into why they work with Hersheys and how their smart shelf and smart cart technology will be released to the world.  This and much much more inside this segment!

### <center>**#6 -- @solomon-adekale** </center>

@solomon-adekale joins to give a quick update about Sollars and Sense and his plans to go with a new chain altogether for the project.  Much of his thinking goes in line with the thinking that creating a new chain can enable functionalities not easily specialized for on a general chain.  Though there is disagreement on this issue between community members and the broader cryptoverse in general, there is a strong reason both for and against making a new chain for Sollars and Sense.  
Solomon gives proof of his efforts on a new website and front end for the sollars project.  This update includes talk about an iOS app.  He shows the community real progress and promises more info in future hangouts.
