2 Timothy 3:16&17 (NIV)
>All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
As Christians, we need each other. God never made a mistake when He said we should not forsake the gathering of His people. He knew that continual communion with fellow believers would do more good to us. We tend to get help in the place of our weaknesses, we tend to listen to the Word of God from His anointed servant, we tend to seek help, get help, pray together and be restored.
The Bible made mention the prayer of faith.
James 5:15 (NIV)
>And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
How do you offer the prayer of faith if you don't come together to reach an agreement? This is what is expected of us as believers and this is why it is important to be under the tutelage of an anointed servant of God. This is how you influence Christians to faith.
The Word of God is useful for teaching, rebuke, correcting and training in righteousness and it will enable you to be furnished unto every good work as it opens your eyes to the truth of God and as earlier established in the first part, that's what our teachers are doing, reiterating the truth that we already know in God's Word to keep us in check and help us to continue in faith as believers.
Jeremiah 26:2 (NIV)
>“This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.
It is important for us to be under the tutelage of anointed man of God and by their fruits you will know them. Rather than speaking about the Word of God they start bragging about the places they have been to. They would make the service about them rather than to shed light into the hearts of people as led by the Holy Spirit. They share their opinions and stories instead of what God commanded in the Bible reference above.
Matthew 5:48 (NIV)
>Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and God has made us perfect. He isn't looking at our mistakes and failings but rather looking on us through the perfect work of Jesus which He did thousands of years ago when we were reconciled back to the Father after we have fallen due to the mistake of Adam and Eve.
Many would say we cannot be perfect. Perfection stems from knowing your frailties and working on them to be better through the reflection from God's Word. Only the Word of God can make you perfect as more truth is being revealed to you either through personal studies or through the preacher and we have justification for that that there were indeed men who were made perfect as a result of this.
Hebrews 12:23 (NIV)
>to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,
