*Many fish, including catfish and tilapia, are raised in ponds and other inland facilities. Some state-controlled marine waters host floating farms, such as the salmon pens of Puget Sound in Washington state.*

Interesting article about the possibility of fish farming in the Gulf of Mexico and why it was struck down this time. I do believe that at some point there will be fish farming in the Gulf. I know this area well and with the currents from the Mississippi River and the Gulf stream most of the fish waste could be slowly flushed hundreds of miles away. And humans are going to need more and more food as the planet keeps growing in population. Not to mention that pressure we are putting on the wild fish populations. I'm for this.....
