It seems that the pendulum is swinging away from high tech to low tech. People are awaking to the reality that their smart phones are not only pricey but they are increasingly an invasion on our privacy. As more news breaks about how cell phone users are stumbling onto files that phones are collecting about where they have traveled by using the GPS feature.
There was a few articles about people whom were on vacation and posted pictures of their vacations on certain website to share with their friends. One phone that provides only phone and text capabilities is the Light Phone. The company started with a crowdfunding project on Indiegogo.com and they set a goal of $250,000. Currently it has raised more than $1.1 million with almost 4,400 backers. Based on their results, it seems the pendulum has reversed course.
