Yesterday, after a brief photo shoot, I gave this tarantula to a homeless man. His sign read, "**Anything Helps.**" Yes, it's true, but we had been talking for a bit first. Plus, I had already hired him to watch our truck and tools while we were working inside a store. My coworker thought he looked a little suspicious and was worried that he might walk off with some of our equipment. I figured the easiest way to deal with the situtation would be to just make friends and hire him. 

He got pretty excited once he realized it was a paying gig. He had already agreed to keep an eye on the truck and tools since he was just sitting in front of the store staring into the parking lot anyway. Once we were done with the work and saying goodbye, we got to talking a bit more, and since he was a fan of spiders and snakes, I let him take this one with him to let it go. Here's some photos that I took of this one before giving it to the man. Would you ever give a tarantula to a homeless man?

Gotta be honest, it's something I'm unlikely to be carrying around in my pocket, handbag or shopping basket.  Now a scorpion or a frog?? LOL...  MUCH more likely in Asia!  Although we DO have some of these fellows in the jungle, if you know where to look.   Glad he liked it. :)

I've always loved tarantulas. Amazing animals.

A friend gave me one once, years ago, that was really fascinating. I subsequently gave it to another friend who had two boys who loved pets of all kinds.

You're giving your kids a wonderful education, and providing them with a great example, as you move about the day. Thank you for that. ;-)
