This snake is a DeKay's Brownsnake, not to be confused with the Brown Snake from Australia. This one is a small nonvenomous species that we encounter regularly, and it is also a newborn. Unlike some other snake species, the DeKay's Brownsnake gives live birth, so it is *not* an egg-layer. One of the Little-Peppers found this one, and then brought it into the house to show the rest of us. At some point during the process, they lost it! Yes, **in the house!** Thankfully, Pinkie-Pepper was able to find it and let it go in the garden. Also thankfully, I got in a brief photo shoot with it to share. Enjoy!
