Visiting an old friend.
It is a small experiment in creativity, you choose a word, search a free resource site for the image or photograph that results in a list, and then write a short narrative about it.

In order to ensure that the choice of the word that will generate the image will be random, the online tool will be used: https://randomwordgenerator.com/
For this occasion the word was chosen: Few

Once again it was time to visit some old friends.

I take advantage of the trip to go through an old cemetery that is in the town. I know it's not a tourist attraction and that it would be weird if I told someone about this short walk through tombs, but I have my own reasons.

"The air here is as calm as ever" I speak to myself. "I think maintenance has been loosening supervision recently or maybe they've cut the budget."

I walk in the corridors between the graves and go to a small space that looks like a gazebo, it is where the graves of the founders of the cemetery are placed. This place was donated by an old family and they ensured the central place for their descendants, plus they did something a bit strange.

In our traditions, it would be expected that a family with good economic resources would make a Mausoleum and their deceased would be placed there, but these people thought of something somewhat original and certainly strange for the rest of this city.

Luckily it was not something too crazy or totally contrary to "Good Habits", but certainly they broke the rules. They built a Roofed Gazebo and secured the parcels of land around that structure. Then, you can go to the gazebo and take a seat under the roof and from there observe any of the tombs.

When the generation that donated the land was asked the reason for their strange arrangement, they always gave a wide variety of answers, but it has never been possible to know what the true answer is.

"This place already looks decadent" I am in the gazebo and certainly they have neglected the maintenance. That is a bit depressing, but it's not like a cemetery is a place to cheer up.

I sat for a while and began to remember, when I visited this place for the first time I sat in this very place and I was crying because of a very strong scolding that I had received at home. Being here I felt a light breeze and after a while I calmed down I noticed one of the sculptures on the graves.

I got scared at the time.

I was sworn that that statue looked at me and smiled at me!

Okay. That is something that only a crazy person would say or think as possible. But, I actually saw that.

I froze for a while and left slowly without looking back.

He can't help but come back another day out of curiosity, besides, I didn't feel anything bad, just surprise. I took a seat and paid attention again, again it seemed to me that the statue moved her face and I felt her gaze again, then she smiled.

Well! Once can be an episode of madness, more than one is already sure that I am crazy.

I didn't tell anyone, but I went back whenever I could. The same thing always happened and I never understood why. Obviously I'm not crazy, because the rest of my life passed normally, I grew up, I got a job, I moved to live on my own. Nothing indicates that I am crazy, but every time I come to this cemetery, I tend to question my sanity, but with a calm that might well scare other people.
