fight against temptation
<div class="text-justify">First of all I thank God for giving me the opportunity to write these short lines thanks to #flaminghelpers, #god, for their gratitude and commitment to the work of God amen.

Speaking of temptations we are talking about incitement to evil, or overtone to sin, which basically comes from three sources.

<center>![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW5JvZJdNggymzHfgAzt4Srnai1q7mK8aQtReaubV61nt/image.png)</center>

<center>[source](https://i1.wp.com/elpuntocristiano.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/tentacion-manzana.jpeg?w=499)</center>

The first is what the Bible calls the world. It does not concern the planet as such, or to the people who inhabit it, but invisible spiritual evil system controlled by Satan and his demons and contrary to the word of God and God's people.

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)
This is the environment in which there is no room for things that have to do with God. It may be politics, economics, art, entertainment, sports, cinema, television, business and many other things. But not me poorly understand. I'm not saying that all these activities are bad. They are bad to the extent that are at the service of Satan and his demons.

When that happens, they are a source of temptation for the believer. The Bible talks about this source of temptation in

>>1 John 2:15-17
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world." If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, does not come from the father, but of the world. The world passes, and desires; but he who does the will of God abideth forever."

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

The second source of temptation for the believer is the meat, not the muscles that are part of the human body. We are referring to the natural tendency of man toward sin.

Unbelievers have no power to dominate this instinct and that are delivered with ease to all kinds of sin. But the believers have power to dominate this instinct. However, this instinct is still present in the believers, is the old nature, or the old man, and it will be as long as we are in this world. That instinct of the old nature to sin, also known it as lust.

>>Santiago 1:13-15:
"When one is tempted, don't say that he is tempted of God; because God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he no one; but that every one is tempted, when his own lust is attracted and seduced. Then the lust, after that it has been conceived, gives birth to Sin; and Sin, being consummated, gives birth to death."

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

The third source of temptation for the believer is Satan. This sinister character was very active trying to disqualify our beloved Salvador in the desert.

>>Mark 1:13:
"He was in the desert forty days he was tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels served him."

The temptation then is incitement to evil, can come in the world, or meat, or the devil. No believer is free to be tempted. Therefore, be tempted is not a sin. While we are in this world, we will be white of temptation, no matter how spiritual we are, you don't know how much of the Bible, no matter how involved we are in the Lord's work. The temptation is unavoidable.

Similarly, we cannot avoid the temptations to fly above our heads, but if we can avoid that they make their nests in our heads.

As believers we must avoid falling into temptations. It is another feature of authentic Christian life.

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

How to avoid falling into temptation? Let me share with you five steps that guarantee us victory over temptation.

First, a strong communion with God through his word and prayer.

>>Psalm 119: 9 and 11:
"With what the young man cleanse his way? With keeping your Word. In my heart I have kept your sayings, not sin against you."

The word of God in the heart is a great ally to overcome the temptation. Jesus proved it during the three times that he was tempted by the devil in the desert. Each temptation was defeated by quoting the word of God which had previously been kept in his heart. In addition to the word of God, prayer is required.

When Jesus found asleep some disciples, shortly before being arrested to be crucified, told them something very enlightening about the prayer.

>>Mark 14:37-38:
"Then he came and found them sleeping; and said to Peter: Simon, are you sleeping? Not you could watch one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

So if we want to overcome the temptation, we must start by improving our communion with God through his word and prayer.

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

The second step is appropriating the promises of God. The Bible speaks of never are going to be tempted more than what we can resist.

>>1 Corinthians 10:13:
"Not you is to try any temptation that is not human; but faithful God who will not let you be tempted more than what you can resist, they will also together with the temptation to exit, so you can stand."

Many believers justify their error of into temptation by claiming that the temptation was so strong that they simply cannot resist. But this is false. If you face any temptation, you should know that this temptation is within what can resist and therefore can come out victorious it. There is no valid justification for a believer to fall into temptation.
The third step is to flee from sexual temptation. That is what the word of God advises.

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

>>2 Timothy 2:22
"You flee the evil desires of youth, and follows justice, faith, love and peace, call on the Lord to heart pure."

>>1 Corinthians 6:18:
"Flee from sexual immorality. Any other sin that man commits, is outside the body; but he who fornicates, against his own body Freckle."

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

The temptations of a sexual nature deserve different treatment than the rest of temptations. When they occur, not we can stay there to make them front. The prudent is flee, running as far as possible of them. Don't forget to this Council. It is biblical. Better let it be said: here fled, that: here fell. David faced a temptation in the sexual area and rather than flee stayed there. It was not long until he fell into adultery with Bathsheba. On the other hand, Joseph faced a temptation in the sexual area and fled, including leaving your clothes in the hands of the woman who seduced him. Lost clothing, but he overcame the temptation.

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

The fourth step is to resist Satan.

>>James 4:7:
"Submit yourselves, then, to God." resist the devil and he will flee from you."

Don't forget that one of the possible sources of temptation is the devil. The responsibility of the believer is to resist the devil. So, it is necessary to first of all submit to God. This means having a close communion with him, in the study of his word and in prayer. It is said that Satan trembles before the smallest believer who is on his knees praying.

It means also to obey what God says in his word. Only then we can resist the devil. Otherwise, the devil laugh of our attempt to resist him.

![baner bonito.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRSpPiiVL35UsaRhujSgoQwmubmVcBWETbAqczcqvAquT/baner%20bonito.png)

The fifth step is to put on the armor of God.

>>Ephesians 6:13-18:
"Therefore take full armor of God, so that you can withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stay awake, then, firm, tight your loins with truth, and dresses with the breastplate of righteousness, and shod your feet with the sizing of the Gospel of peace. Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you can turn off all the darts of the evil one fire. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God; praying at all times with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching it with all perseverance and supplication for all the Saints."

Armor guarantee firmness against the attacks of the devil. It is an effective antidote in the struggle against the temptations. That by the grace of God, his life is characterized by a constant victory over temptation. It is another of the characteristics of the authentic Christian life.

Temptations that come from people who are opposed to God and his word

Jesus and his disciples often clashed face to face with this kind of temptation and testing of sickly thought:

>>Matthew 16:1
"Came the Pharisees and the Sadducees to tempt him, and asked him to show them a sign from heaven."

>>Matthew 19:3
"Then came the Pharisees tempting him and saying:-are allowed a man to divorce his wife for any cause?"

>>Mateo 22:18
"But Jesus, knowing the malice of them, told them:-what I tentáis, hypocrites?"</div>

Well said Peraza!
Prayer is the main means in the fight against temptations and the best way to watch. "Watch and pray so as not to fall into temptation," said our Lord Jesus Christ.
