I noticed recently that I have not been paid the usual STEEM from Drug Wars today, and I was wondering if it was a widespread problem, or just me. 

Thanks to a post that @beverlyjoe put up just a few minutes ago, I found out that I am not the only one having this issue. It seems they have also not gotten their payment today. I wanted to write this article mostly just to let people know that I also have not gotten my payment. This appears to be widespread. 

[UPDATE: It looks like everyone just got their payments. However, it is still unclear why there was a delay.]

Now the question is, why is this happening? 

Is this happening because of the currency change? I was under the impression that today was the last day we should still be getting STEEM, but I would guess that the currency change must have something to do with it.

Speaking of the currency change, that is another huge issue. I've tried to be pretty reasonable and in the middle on issues relating to Drug Wars, especially because it is "just a game", but this does seem like a big problem. Some people got into the game because of its connection with STEEM (and they *marketed* the game based on that...), and many of those people might not have started playing if they had known it wasn't going to get them STEEM anymore. Especially when it is moving to some unproven token that nobody knows the value of. Honestly, they keep changing how the game works so much that it is hard to keep track of what is going on, and it can very annoying.

So again, is this lack of payout today due to a botched implementation of this new currency? It wouldn't be surprising, especially given that there was a difficult role out for fights, forming gangs, the payout system to a degree, balancing, and several other aspects. There have been a lot of botched role outs of new features...and not a lot of communication.
