Today I thought I’d talk about a slightly different topic. Every year on March 8th we celebrate something. Yeah, it's World Women's Day. It is celebrated with the aim of encouraging every woman and fulfilling their demands. But I have never seen an International Men’s' Day celebration. But you know, November 19: International Men’s' Day alone!

Since there is not much talk about this day, I thought I would do some research on this. Little did I know that such a day had been set aside. Why celebrate a day like this?  What is so special?


November 19th of each year is reserved for men. Appreciate their contribution to the country, the nation, the society, the family and everything else. So, this day is set aside to celebrate masculinity. Today the power of men’s goodness is acknowledged. There are three main purposes for this day.


•	Focus on the health of both men’s and boys’
•	Improving gender relations
•	Promoting gender equality


Speaking of the history of this, in 1975, March 8 was officially recognized as World Women's Day. As a result of this, men began to feel neglected and they started talking about this. Although there have been some instances of this discrimination against men, none have been successful.


Yesterday, November 19 marks the 28th anniversary of the first celebration of this day. This day was started by Thomas Oster on February 7, 1992. This day was revived in 1999 by Jerome Teelucksing. That is, he organized a ceremony to celebrate International Men's Day on his father's birthday.


Every year a theme is given for IMD. This time it's "Better Health for Men".

o	One out of every 10 men suffers from some form of mental illness 
o	76% of suicides are men
o	40% of victims of domestic violence are men
o	85% of the homeless are men 
o	The majority of victims of violent crimes are men

Finally, this is all I have to say. Men also feel pain and it’s okay to cry. Feelings are not limited to women.  Every man needs support.



To all the fathers who shoulder the burden of their families and strive to give their children a better future,
To all virtuous sons who take care of his parents,
To all loyal husbands who fulfil the wishes of their wives, never giving up her hand in difficult times and respect them,
To all the brothers who protect their siblings,
To all the boyfriends who sincerely love and care for their girlfriends,
For love and sacrifices, THEY make without any appreciation,
