Most people have a plan when it comes to their life.
Not everyone, but most people.
And those plans are usually about how to find the right job, find a person to marry, make enough money and live comfortably doing all kind of things.
One problem I noticed that people have when it comes to their plans is that they are reluctant to change, and they hate adapting their plans and modify them in a way that could benefit them and help them make more progress.
For example, my main goal when I first started working online was to become a freelancer and work on my own. I did not want to become an employee, I did not want to work for other people and I wanted to be my own boss.
As time passed by, I realized that having a job is a lot easier than being a freelancer, and while I wasn't happy with the idea of getting a normal job and quitting on my dream, I decided to change my plan a little bit and consider getting a job I like in case I get an opportunity.
I also decided that it was a good idea for me to be able to do more than just basic things in Photoshop, so I tried doing more than that. I started uploading my work on websites like Graphic River and Creative Market, then I decided to do something completely different and start writing for Steemit and this year I thought it was a good idea to learn another new skill , so I started learning how to use Blender.
Because of all the new things I learned, my plan also changed, little by little. From wanting to be a freelancer and nothing else, I decided I may get a job in case an opportunity appears in an area I like working, and now, I'm willing to both freelance and get a job in the future once I'm better at 3D.
Right now I work on improving my skills, focusing on building environments and learn more about working with Blender, while also thinking about future packages I can make that will be uploaded on different websites and that will act as passive income while I work on a job, in case I get one.
My plan changed, because I evolved, and it would've been stupid for me to ignore every other possibility out of stubbornness. I still don't want to get a normal job that I will hate simply because I am in need of money, at least not yet, but that's something different..
Goals and plans should change as you evolve, and refusing to accept that simply because you want things to go your way may result in you losing a lot of opportunities that could change your life. Don't be reluctant to change. Be open, and while not giving up on your goals, plans and dreams, be willing to adapt and find new objectives in time.
