✔️<b>The common tern (Sterna hirundo) </b>

These birds can be seen in mid-May, if, of course, spring is finally established. The main thing is that there are a lot of fish in the river. In addition to fish, these birds feed on mollusks, and in rare cases, insects, I suppose that these are dragonflies, which are full of rivers.
Their hunt is a swift, not deep diving, in which they are real masters. Sometimes you can see how the bird, seeing the prey, hangs in one place and watches it closely for a long time, waiting for the fish to be closer to the surface of the water.
They nest on the shores or rocky foundations of the river. During the mating season, I saw the male catch a fish and perform difficult flights around the female, obviously it was a mating dance.
