This is a more extreme water sport. It combines elements of surfing, paragliding, wind-surfing, wake-boarding, skateboarding and snowboarding.

It requires good upper body and core strength which gives serious *kite-surfers* a unique physique.

(Usually, very developed chests, arms and sculptured obliques which lend to a narrow waist.)

This is due to the fact that they are hanging from their arms and twisting their torsos to carve a wave at great speeds.

The top speed clocked by a **kite-surfer** can reach up to **90 km** per hour (or, about **55** mph).

A surfer’s top speed is approximately **30** mph (or, about **48 km** per hour) when they catch a fast wave.
