What is your own personal definition of marriage?

Would love to know what makes marriage a sacred union like you said? And can two people that unite together to share love and care and build a family together without doing a wedding be said to be married, even if they live the rest of their lives together?

I was hoping that the marriage would bring a kind of confidence in the couple that would alleviate some difficulties. Of course it is not the only reason, but it is an illusion that has been revealed later.

In the sense that we usually hear it, marriage is for me contrary to the basic principle of life: impermanence. Marriage is a kind of cultural conditioning that seems to me less and less adapted to the evolution of society as I perceive it. It amounts, in the end, to consider it inappropriate in the light of what I perceive of myself in the light of my personal experimentation with life.

Marriage is therefore for me a sort of bet on the future, a belief (in which the emotions intervene), but also a magical moment of celebration and witness, public recognition of the love that passes through me.

Today, I would happily marry for this aspect of things but not to promise the other that I will be privileged by his side in both joys and sorrows, still less until my death. I am so happy today when my partner experiences moments of happiness in my absence, and I do not flag myself to be sometimes absent or unavailable when she goes through a difficult time. And conversely.

Finally, the promise I made at my wedding is the externalization of what I felt and believed at that moment, and I did not wish to maintain myself in a relational system that did not suit me after having yet tried to improve things.

It's like when I have the joy of planning a project, a meeting, a trip ... what I'm experiencing in the moment is joy. If I feed this joy in a conditioned way to the event to which it relates, there is a good chance that the whole process will be called into question and thrown in the trash once the joy is gone. This is a failure. And yet, I will have felt so many beautiful things in the meantime!

In summary, it would be to cling to experiences, pleasant as unpleasant, to believe them unchanging, or inescapable. I have no doubt that there are lasting and happy marriages and it is always touching to meet people who live it after many years.

I have never regretted getting married, I have never regretted the time when I was married, I have never regretted having divorced, and I would tend to say that I will never regret it ... it would be falling into the aforementioned trap!

marriage","relationship","love","family
"
