It's always interesting to see how concepts of morality change over time. It used to be that when someone made a commitment to another person, they stuck by it no matter what... now it's just a matter of convenience. Convenience has become the basis for society.

Using the example of the "purge," just because something is legal it doesn't necessarily make it moral. Take abortion for example- it's legal, but it isn't moral... it's taking the life of another human being. It's a matter of convenience trumping morality. Old people are inconvenient, why not kill them too? I find liberals inconvenient, they add nothing to society... in fact it can be easily argued that society would be far better off without them. So why can't we do away with liberals. When you kill an unborn child you deprive them of potential... we already know that liberals have no potential, except to destroy morality and society- so why not kill them? See the conundrum? This goes far deeper than just cheating- it's about what dynamic will drive your society... morality or convenience?

Hmm while I agree that times may have change, I find it hard to believe people in the past didn't cheat on one another...
I love that you find liberals inconvenient, although that's an understatement, I'm sure you know :P I think the abortion/liberal thing is deep, I mean there's a lot to be discussed in that one. 
Our society? Convenience already drives us, I'd say. The people who hold on to morality, good or bad, can be counted on fingers...:/

Much of my point is that it used to be reversed... the people that cheated could be counted on one hand. People made commitments and stuck to them- just because they were commitments.
