Our two weeks as farm workers came to an end, right now that the weather is getting better and the sun warms the  moist air from the rain of the previous days. Yesterday was a memorable day: bathing at the lake in the afternoon and then in the  evening birthday party for one of Katia and Victor's sons, with Asado, music, games and an intense red sunset to greet us! We can surely say: we deserved it. While we are preparing the backpacks, here comes another couple of volunteers, our substitutes from France.

We get a lift by Jeep to the fateful crossroads and after a while we get on the bus to Osorno City. Here we wait an hour for the connection to Valdivia, our new destination that we reach in the evening. Ahh how nice is to be traveling again, it's a feeling we missed. It takes us some time to find an accommodation, but after a few attempts we even find a comfortable double room. We are close to the center and we take advantage of returning to civilization acting like we were common tourists, looking around the stalls of local handicrafts, almost tempted in the purchase of some useless and encumber stuff. We stop in the square to listen to folklore musicians and a group performing Chilean folk dances.

Every corner is full of life, from different artistic performances to families with children holding ice-cream  in their hands, enjoying Saturday afternoon walk. There is also a mime that on the other side of the street tries to draw attention with his big suitcase and with his funny attempts to find collaborators for his show!
We continue along the river where the fish and vegetable market attendants are frantically packing up the unsold merchandise. The assault of the auctioneers of sailing tours of the surroundings is incessant and troublesome. It is time for dinner and we try our luck at the Pizzeria grandma, recommended by Carlos, the manager of the hostel.

Yes, after a month and a half of abstinence we are ready and partly desperate to try a Chilean pizza. Well, in the end we must admit that it is not bad, certainly the ingredients are not the authentic ones we are accustomed to, but when you are hungry that's the seasoning that makes everything tastier, so we can say the meal deserve a nice 7 out of 10!
