As I have explained in my previous post I am traveling throughout the wonderful country of Vietnam. I left off at the point where I was waiting for a local tour guide to get a guided tour through the city of Hué

Once I got picked up we started moving toward the city center. As you can probably judge from the picture it was quite warm, some 35 ish degrees Celsius. For someone from Europe this is really pretty much the most you can bear before requiring an air conditioned room haha.

At the first stop we encountered a monument which involved Vietnam wanting to become independent from the French union. I was only familiar with the country but as it turns out France used to own huge chunks of the world. The Vietnamese wouldn’t have it tough and wanted to become independent as early as 1904. And if you look at the picture really closely you can see someone who would go on to become very famous was also involved.

For our second stop we got to the local Hué market. In this huge market which spans several hundreds of shops local people shop for their needs. Normally I was told there would also be some tourists but as October is in the off season I was pretty much the only foreigner around. The local people were really friendly and showed me around with the guide. If you ever visit Vietnam you should definitely give Hué a chance!
