...  In the last decades i have not noticed that the hazel bears flowers in autumn. So i did some research and found out that the hazelnut is a plant that has female and male inflorescences. The male inflorescences already appear in the autumn of the previous year. When they flower at the beginning of each year, they stretch to eight to ten centimetres and in spring the female flowers develop; as they have no nectar, they are of no interest to insects. Nevertheless, they have an important task: they allow themselves to be pollinated by the male hazelnut flowers so that fruits can develop.......
