**Restoration – 1980 Honda C - 70**

Restoring old motorcycle is big trend in these days and also my brother had an idea to do a classic motorbike restoration project and he recently founded Honda C-70 made in japan bike which introduced in **1980**. This motorbike was previously owned to friend of my father and he ridden this bike around 40 years.

He bought this bike two months ago and firstly started doing some inspection about the conditions and old japan technology which has been used in that era. This machine had a four stroke engine with four rotary gear systems and a maximum calibration of **60 mph**.

Then the painting part, He had to reassemble most of the parts and clean and do some repairing and tinkering works also to get the look back. Removing nuts and bolt was bit a hard work due to rust and after using rust remover chemical (WD-40) it’s become easier.

He used 2k acrylic paint for body parts and heat resistant paint for the engine parts.  Changing of original fork height by using replace new fork set gave a new shape than the old models. For the head light set he used **new Suzuki GN 125** head light and add three wheeler head light cap cover enhance the classical look. Also he removed square speedometer which attached to head light and add single rounded speedometer top of the head light, for this he checked using **Honda CM 125** speedometer and it’s worked charm.

Front tire fitted with 2.75 x 17 size new tire and 1.40 x 17  new DID japan rim and spokes and for the rear tire fitted with 3.00 x 17 size new tire and 1.60 x 17  new DID japan rim and spokes. Used four metal grill signal indicator light costly around $17 and remove original rounded Stanley signal light and kept original tail light. There were few electrical issues and had to get help from electrician. The engine has small tappet and current passing issues and one of my friend fixed those issues for me now the engine is good condition and one kick it’s starting without any issues.


Restoring old motorbikes is a good beneficial thing which we can get knowledge and experience and troubleshoot small issues in simple right way also ride a classic motorcycle always make us feel better.
