<p>There is no disproving to the fact that we are being trained and nurtured to assume full responsibilities for the issues of our lives, but there is also the place of "asking". Some people, by reason of; maybe self ego; have opted out from the blessedness in this, as they have seen "asking" as "mission impossible" or as a heinous task. But permit me to tell you that "asking for help" does not not in anyway signify irresponsibility.</p>

<p>A very brilliant exposition on this subject matter was made by Brown, Fausset, and Jameson (I call them the three wise men), they said:</p>
<blockquote>Ask to receive, seek what you miss, knock when the door is shut against you. - Brown, Fausset, and Jameson [Paraphrased by me]</blockquote>
<p>In the light of this exposition, you can infer that "asking" is a very crucial part in our journey to limitless achievements.</p>
<p>Just like one of my most respected mentors; Dr David Oyedepo, said:</p>
<blockquote>It is only a fool that would be ashamed to do what is gainful. Dr David Oyedepo</blockquote>
<p>If there are benefits embedded in asking responsibly and sincerely, why then do some people still feel shy to ask? Can I tell you the sincere truth? the worst reply you could get is a "no", but does this truncate the breath in your nostrils?</p>

<p>Here's another fact: As simple as the concept of "asking" might appear, there are some technicalities behind it, and I won't have you ignorant of them. Here are some tips I've hustled up:</p>
<ul>
  <li>Make sure you have a very genuine and sincere need to ask, otherwise do not ask. If you can achieve what you want to ask alone, then it would be pointless to ask. Also, if what you want to ask for is just to satisfy some unimportant desires, then you may want to reconsider.</li>
</ul>
<p><br></p>
<ul>
  <li>In asking, try to be polite and nice. Even though your need could be sincere, your manner of approach still matters. Also have in mind that it is not a right, but a favour.</li>
</ul>
<p><br></p>
<ul>
  <li>Be very precise: Ask specifically starting from the most prioritized.</li>
</ul>
<p><br></p>
<ul>
  <li>Finally, be time-sensitive. If you've observed all the above points, asking at a wrong time could actually be a "no" for an answer.</li>
</ul>
<p>Remember this: "asking" does not infer that you are not responsible, but it is actually designed to confer responsibility on us. Even if your request is not granted, you would still feel glad you did.</p>

Thanks for the eye opener. 

I do not understand why many believe asking makes them little. But I believe this is simply the definition of pride. 

From experience you need directions to succeed in life and this can only be achieved by asking. Otherwise, you will wander to no avail.
