With every passing year, it seems to me like more and more people are getting tired of the shenanigans that their governments indulge in. The overall distrust in governments seems to be increasing.
Of course, this may not be applicable to every single country but people from some of the largest nations have started feeling this way. We all know what powerful governments have done historically and continue to do so.
From increasingly invasive surveillance to straight out stamping on people's rights and liberty, it seems like governments are leaving no stone unturned to create a dystopian reality.
I personally think that it's all because of politicians for whom, their position (and money) matters more than upholding the principles of public work. Naturally, there is growing disdain towards politicians, especially in developing nations.
# Scientists To Run The World?

Since I love science so much and respect scientists a lot, I was thinking whether scientists should run the world instead of politicians and what that could mean.
If scientists were in charge, they would make data-backed decisions and would hold science above politics. There have been countless instances where science had to suffer because politicians couldn't stop playing politics. God knows how many scientific projects have been stalled throughout history due to this.
Imagine facing some of the largest problems we have ever faced (some that could threaten our survival), and instead of helping scientists in any way possible to devise ways to deal with those problems, politicians create hurdles for them. I know, it makes you want to pull out your hair in anger and frustration!
I can't help but think that scientists would run the world much better than corrupt politicians who don't care for anyone but themselves. I might be wrong but who knows, right?
