After submitting [yesterday’s post](https://steemit.com/trading/@sawcruhteez/btc-trading-challenge-day-100-0-07455-btc) I realized that I forgot to give a shoutout to the individuals who are taking the time to read, upvote and resteem my posts. 

It was the 100th day of the challenge and that is a bit of a milestone. I like to celebrate those days with the people who have helped get me this far. Every upvote has provided me the encouragement and energy that I need to push through the temporary setbacks/frustration.

**Lifestyle**

The last couple of days were a bit of a struggle as I have been dealing with some issues in my personal life. Specifically the rapidly declining health of my 94 year old grandmother. One year ago I would have resorted to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. 

In [yesterday’s post](https://steemit.com/trading/@sawcruhteez/btc-trading-challenge-day-100-0-07455-btc) I wrote about the difficulty of making it through #SoberSunday. It wasn't easy, but I did it! Those small, but very significant, daily battles are what adds up to make us who we are. Each small decision impacts future decisions and that is how our destiny is solidified. If I would have given in and compromised my morals two days ago then it could have led to me completely unraveling sometime in the near future. 

Now I understand that I need a balanced lifestyle to help me cope with the difficulties of this existence, not drugs or alcohol. For me a balanced life includes:

Cooking for myself and eating healthy
Consistent exercise
Consistent sleep pattern (7 hours minimum)
Regular social interaction (with the right kind of people)

Yesterday afternoon was my time for social interaction. I played disc golf with some great people and I beat them all after shooting 2 under par! Then I snuck off to the gym and called my mother before meeting them at the bar. 

We ate some great food, played ping pong (I went 3-0), pool (0-2) and table hockey (0-1). We drank some shots and I briefly chatted with a cute redhead before calling it a night. 

Temperance and self-control makes drinking so much more enjoyable! Maybe even more important than that is the realization that social interaction > getting wasted.

**Homework**

I am very excited about the upcoming article which will cover *Options, Futures and Hedging!* Imagine buying an insurance policy which would pay out when your crypto portfolio loses USD value...If you have a significant portion of your net worth invested in crypto then why wouldn’t you buy that policy? That is what a call option is and the premiums can be very reasonable!
