My pants are too tight. This stems from winter eating habits. I was consciously reducing my intake of grains from about Sept- Nov, just to see if I lost weight/lost inches/felt better. In three months I lost about 4 pounds, which is not impressive. I lost an inch here and half an inch there. Nothing earth-shattering. I wasn't trying to do the Keto diet, or the Paelo diet, because I'm not into fad diets. I just thought I'd experiment and see what happened. Then the weather got cold, and I was cold all the time, and I realized I needed some carbs to keep warm! So now my pants are too tight again. Oh well. 

I really didn't get carried away eating goodies at Christmas, either. With a diabetic and a pre-diabetic in the family, I don't bake a lot of sweets, and if I do bake, I reduce the sugar content substantially. So it wasn't as if we had a month-long party going on at our house. I can't blame my pudgy little gut on holiday feasting. No, it's just winter, and it's cold, and I need food. It's easier to eat less and ignore hunger in the summer when it's too hot to bake or eat. Summer will be here one of these days (well, in about 5 months), and then I will eat less. Probably.
