I’m starting a new series for 2017. It’s “Things Canadian” and will feature some aspect of Canada that you may or may not know about. I hope you’ll find it as interesting as I’ll enjoy learning more about my country. I’m not abandoning the Steemit Ramble. I enjoy doing it as I manually curate around the site. Now that I’m past my really busy time of year, I expect to get back to more regular posting. 

I hear the Steemit roadmap is due out in a few days. Looking forward to see what is in store for 2017 on this still young site.

@sirwinchester writes a post about the why and how of the mummification of Egyptian nobility in ancient times. It’s always fascinating how these advanced methods were carried out in times when people didn’t possess the so called advanced knowledge we have today.

I’ve included this post, not because it has quality writing, it doesn’t, but it asks a question that I’m sure many new people to Steemit ask. If they can still succeed on the platform when others are so far ahead of them? The author doesn’t think so, but I think the people who have commented have made it pretty clear the answer is “YES” - if you work at it.

I’ve heard of Richard Adams but not actually read any of his work. Unlike @qezzit, Watership Down wasn’t required reading for me when I was in high school. His review here has intrigued me. I think I will add it to my ‘to read’ list.

Some interesting ideas and well worth exploring.
