My own Pomona, original terracotta sculpture

<p>Some months ago I made this Pomona just for my pleasure. It's a little terracotta sculpture and she remind me some interesting ancient sculptures related to the cult of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_goddess">Mother Goddes</a>s from Paleolithic Era.</p>
<p>More ancient religions and new religion movements have represented the Mother in different way and as a personification of different things (nature, fertility, destruction and others).</p>
<p>I'm intrigued by ancient mythology and I live in a country (Italy) full of ancient myths and legends. At school, I studied roman and etruscan history, I visited museums and I see some interesting archaeological remains.</p>
<p>I feel that something of the our ancient myths is inside me and so, I have my "<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomona_(mythology)">pomona</a>". Why I called her "pomona", not Mother? Because the Pomona, in roman mythology, is the Goddess of the abundance and the world "pomona", in Italian language, sounds as "a big apple" (no, it's not about New York ^_^), a rounded fruit full of seed, perfect to represent the fertility and the nature.</p>
<p>This Pomona is placed over my working table, so she can watch over me ^_^</p>
