이더월렛 사기극 500억원대 피해액 발생
닥터 신선생이라는 닉네임으로 온라인상에서 활동중인  A씨가 운영중인 이더월렛이라는 사기 사이트를 만들어 암호화화폐를 투자하면 수익을 내준다는 명목으로 회원을 모집해 고객들에게 출금을 해주지 않으면서 2,500명에서 3천명 사이의 피해자를 양산하는 일명 먹튀행각을 벌였다

이들의 피해액은 500억원에 달할 것이라고 한다

이 일당들은 웰렛상에 잔고가 계속 유지되도록 조작하여 투자자들을 안심하게 했지만 실상은 이더리움을 몰래 출금해 사용해 온 것으로 드러났다

더 놀라운것은 투자자들이 이를 눈치채고 출금 요청이 쇄도하자 업데이트를 해야 한다며 출금에 불응했고 자신이 이더월렛의 자금책이라고 하는 자가 고객에게 따로 접근해 1억원을 내면 원금을 되돌려 주겠다는 2차 사기 행각까지 벌였다는 것이다

2차 사기행각은 경찰 수사가 진행되고 있음에도 불구하고 벌어진 일이라 더욱 놀랍다

텔레그램의 N번방 사건에 뒤이어 이런 끊이지 않는 암호화화폐 사기 관련한 소식들은 암호화화폐에 대한 국민들의 인식을 더욱더 나쁘게 만들고 있는것 같다

개인적으로 암호화화폐에서 터무니 없는 수익을 주겠다고 투자를 유치하는 경우는 폰지 사기일 확률이 99.9%이상이라고 본다

암호화화폐 태생후 수많은 폰지 사기들이 탄생하고 또 진화하고 있는 와중에 옥석을 가릴줄 아는 혜안이 필요한 시점이다
