Citroen is the real example how much is the valuable top driver in the WRC campaign. It's not enough to build the car, top driver is needed to get the wins and podiums.

They are struggling for years with the Manufacturer's results. Occasional wins from Meeke, when he was not under pressure, boosted the team but the new car C3 WRC is not good enough to fight the opposition.

Finally, they booted Kris Meeke after the last shunt in Portugal and cancelled the entry for his car in Sardinia.

The 'replacement' in Mads Ostberg or Craig Breen couldn't deliver the result - only 5th place from Ostberg and 6th from Breen and minutes after the winner.

How long will this crises long depends on the budget that will bring the top driver to the team and there is only one who can bring the team from the low - Ogier. And he is not available until the next season.
