Who hates tags? Definitely not me.

Tags are very useful in organizing the content of any social media platform and websites. Tags categorize our post according to keywords that we used and group it with similarly tagged content. It provides structure and order to a vast record of content generated by users. Ideally, tags make it easy to find content about a particular topic. In steemit for example, clicking on a particular tag will generate a feed of posts bearing that tag.

Here is my feed after clicking food:

So if I'm feeling hungry and want to look for recipes and food ideas, I will have to click that tag. It's ok with me because really, I can bear the hassle of looking for a particular tag out of the **49 popular tags** located in the left side of my feed. 

But what if, the tag is not that popular? We have no search bar for our tags so I can either look for a post with that tag or type it manually in the address bar.

 Or I will click that **View all tag**s link and spend a good amount of time scrolling and looking for the tag I am looking for. 

#### Or you guys can actually look into the possibility of letting users **follow**  tags. ####

I believe a feature like this will be useful especially for new users who have just completed their registration and are setting up their accounts. When I first came here, I do not know anyone. I do not have any idea on who to follow and my personal feed remains empty for some time. 

So upon sign up, users who still have no idea about the people in the community can opt to follow tags that they are very interested in.

**Something like this:**

This way, their feed will be instantly filled with posts about topics that they really like. From there, they can know about authors and follow them building their user experience in the process and acquainting themselves with the community.

**For all users, the tags menu could look like this:**

A small button beside the tags can be clicked by users to follow that tag. Green tags are those tags that the user is currently following.  To avoid too much clutter, a limit can be put on the number of tags that users can follow. 

With this in place, your feed will be showing posts from people you are following together with the topics or tags that you chose to follow.
