As a Malaysian most of us has the chance to work outside of our own home country.
Yes i am one of the person too.

Over this 15 years of working outside of Malaysia i found it that most of the local worker are more calculative than the foreign. What i meant for local is which ever if ypu are a Singaporean, Malaysian, Bruneian, Thailand...etc
Those who work for others in another coumtry is more hardworking and more trusted than the local. 
And i always heard others saying don't be stupid la, they are all the same?

Well i am going to write some few sample to let them know it is not the 'same' la.

1) attendance
Local tend to get more lateness when arriving at work place. Reasons...
1a) traffic jam la!
1b) transport spoil lo!
1c) urgent matter came up like who and who sick....!

2) work only if pay grade is sufficient?
Local most of the time think their wage are not suppose to be this less and will not work more than what they think is good enough. 
How are we or you going to get paid more if you don't even want to do more or learn to make more.
2a) if something came up like last minute proposal need to submit for the boss, they will just say they are not free and will only do it next day.
2b) if the scope is not what they do normally they will try to avoid it. Like if n office boy was not here for work today and there is an urgent document need to send they will avoid it. 

3) Avoiding task given
Why? The only reason simple to catch that idea. Yes, if you do it now you will be forever step into the 'hell pit'. Anything or whatever task you will be in the list. 
To me whatever task given is a oppurtunity to learn more thus building up your confidence and acknowlegment by the management.
Ok! You want 'die' you die alone la. No one will help you if you have problem.

4) Keep quite in a meeting.
No comments mean no problem?
Nobody like changes because if there is a change it is more likely a worst situation. No one is thinking a positive side. Also no comments mean faster finish the meeting.

5) no 'o.t' pay mean no extra hour
Yes to those who have family maybe yes they need to go early to fetch kids and make dinner.....etc
For those local who are pay slightly or maybe higher than the expat they are not entilte to have overtime claim.
Foreigner are paid with levy accordingly and they are labour law to entitle them the claim. Of course if you are under paid local you can apply for it. But sometime if it is half an hour stay you may not be able to claim too. But what is half an hour if you gain trust by the management. Correct?
I have meet a colleague telling me don't be stupid la on time work and on time leave is correct. Why stay a little longer if you aren't even paid.
