Street Photography Contest Week 06 - Motion Blur Entries 2 & 3

<h2><strong>Both of these shots were taken here in HK.</strong></h2>
<h2><strong>This first one was taken on Wan Chai Rd</strong>.</h2>
<p>&nbsp;After finding this wall of real estate advertising posters as the frame/backdrop for my pic, I just stood and waited for people to walk by while 'pretending' to only be interested in snapping the posters. <strong>I took approx 10 shots</strong> until this guy strolled through, and after catching him nicely in frame, I knew I had the shot I wanted.</p>

<h2><strong>The second one here was taken in an MTR train station during the evening rush hour.</strong></h2>
<p>&nbsp;I waited until <strong>this mass of humanity suddenly lurched forward as people were piling into the train</strong>. <strong>The subject of this pic is the</strong> <strong>one still guy in the crowd,</strong> seeming 'more together' than the rest of the horde gagging to get home after another monotonous day at work. I like this particular shot as <strong>my camera managed to single out only him</strong>, while<strong> the rest of the pic is a chaotic scene of city madness</strong>.&nbsp;This looked better in B&amp;W IMHO.</p>

<h2><strong>Medium - Both shots were taken on my LG V10 smartphone and edited in Lightroom.&nbsp;</strong></h2>
<h2><strong>A Final Thought or Two</strong></h2>
<p><strong>I'm loving</strong> being a part of these contests here on Steemit as they're helping me stretch my creativity in a different form, and encouraging me to develop and explore new ways of expressing myself.&nbsp;</p>
<p>For this contest <em><strong>I learnt much about using ISO and shutter speeds</strong></em><em> </em>to create an effect in the initial snap. I knew my phone had a nifty camera with a manual mode when I bought it, but up until recently I hadn't taken the time to learn and experiment with its potential.</p>
<p>&nbsp;So cool to learn new skills and realise this rabbit hole could go down far deeper than I'd previously thought possible.</p>
