The English Premier League is *arguably* the most intriguing and the most exciting football league in the world. And ahead of the upcoming and very intriguing 2018/2019 Premier League football season, the football press is beginning to have a merry time, with banters from coaches.
<hr>
The English Premier League boasts of so many top managers who have, at one point or the other in their career, been regarded and awarded the title of the best coach in the world. And it is no surprise to always have coaches exchange banters or play mind games with each other.

Ahead of the upcoming season, with so many pre-season games and tours taking place right about now, coaches are already playing minds games – a trademark of some of the top coaches in the Premier League.

As teams try to fine-tune plans and preparations for the new season, Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho and his Liverpool counterpart, Jurgen Klopp, have just given football fans and the press something to yap and cheer about.

It all began with Jose Mourinho suggesting in an interview that Liverpool had to win the Premier League this season – kicking off just weeks away. And Liverpool’s boss, Jurgen Klopp had quite the response, by stating that one of his “life goals is to make United manager, Jose Mourinho, smile”.

The often-outspoken Jose Mourinho had claimed that Liverpool are “big-candidates” for the Premier league title; having spent the sum of about £170m on just four players this summer, ahead of the new season.

But Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool promptly dismissed those comments which were made by Mourinho – in his usual calm manner – before both sides met in the pre-season International Champions Cup tournament in Michigan on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp made it clear that he had no problem with Jose Mourinho and that it’s a free world, where each coach was responsible for the fans, owners but nobody else. The German also stated that he was not too interested in Manchester United either.

Klopp’s statement was in response to Mourinho’s suggestion that Liverpool will have set a new premier league transfer record this season after having spent over £250m over the last twelve months – including world record fees for a goalkeeper (Alisson - £66.8m) and defender (Virgil van Dijk - £75m).

Over the past few weeks, Liverpool have also brought in Guinean midfielder, Naby Keita (£50m), Brazilian midfielder, Fabinho (about £40m) and Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri (£13m), all before the season even commences.

The very recent and efficient spending by Liverpool to get players was put across to Jose Mourinho, and never being one to shy away from the media, Jose stated that he doesn’t see any other team in the Premier League reaching Liverpool’s level of investment.

The Manchester United boss added that, for a team like Liverpool who were finalists in last season’s Champions League (losing 3 – 1 to Real Madrid), they are a big candidate, and they have to win the league.

Jurgen Klopp on the other hand said, he doesn’t think so, when asked if he had to win the premier league this season. Klopp added that the question of a sack in he doesn’t win the league, would be largely dependent on the kind of football Liverpool plays.

Klopp stated further that a big part of a coach’s job in to play the way the people like. He noted that Liverpool played the way their people wanted last season and the season before that, and that now they are hoping to go a step further.
