After a very entertaining, dramatic and most certainly controversial quarter-final fixtures in the Champions League and Europa League, draws for the semi-finals of both competitions were made earlier today.

Lots of talking points are still being generated from scenes and perceived controversies in some of the quarter-final fixtures. But like it or not, such controversies give us something to yap about, every now and then.

The final of the Champions League will take place on Saturday, 26th May; in Kiev, Ukraine. For the Europa League, the final will take place on Wednesday, 16th May; in Lyon, France – with the winner guaranteed a place in the Champions League for next season.

I was hoping for a Liverpool Vs Barca final all season long, suppose a Liverpool Vs Real Madrid one is the next best.

Athletico Madrid shouldn't really struggle against Arsenal but who knows? I think Madrid Vs Salzberg in the final with Madrid winning.

I agree that a Liverpool vs Madrid final is probably a big final too. But that is if Madrid are able to overcome a Bayern. Roma shouldn't be ruled out too though. The way they dealt with Barca shows that they aren't scared of anyone. Thanks for reading @jclark

Oh yes for sure, I was really shocked by what Roma managed to do against Barca. I am a Liverpool fan though so cannot pick against them. 

Bayern are maybe the best all round team in the competition but I feel Ronaldo is a big advantage. Having him is basically like playing with a 1 goal advantage at the start of each game.

I think that the Europa League final will be Atletico Madrid - Salzburg. I'm really impressed by the solid run of a team from a league that is not a traditional powerhouse in Europe. Wish my team, Olympiakos could pick up a few tricks from them!

As far as the Champions League, I have a sneaky feeling Liverpool will out muscle Roma but that Heynckes will find a way to outfox his younger counterpart Zidane. Real Madrid can't keep winning the Champions League but that they may be feeling a little too cocky going into this semifinal.

You've got a point about the Salzburg side. They are quite an exciting bunch to watch. As for Atletico, it could be a tough one for them to overcome Arsenal. Atletico themselves, have'nt been exceptional in Europe this season. But a final between them and Salzburg sure looks promising. Thanks for your commeny @donskoy

I hope its Bayern and Roma!!! In Europa league it would be great to see Atletico Arsenal in the final but that can't happen, so I am not so excited about that final!

Yea, Bayern vs Roma final is quite possible, but the then their oppositions could also make for an interesting final. I agree, an Atletico vs Arsenal final would have been more ideal for the Europa league, but that isn't to be. Thanks for you comment @anna89

Real Liverpool right? Yes it's true it's a really interesting couple but I don't know how good will Liverpool be with that opponent also with what happened with Juve I don't think Real deserves to be in the final! Thank you for replying to my comment @rickie!

I think that the final game for the Champions League will be Real Madrid v. Liverpool whilst the Europa Lueague one will be Atletico de Madrid v. Salzburg. 

We cannot assure anything in football, but I predict very beautiful games on the semifinals.
