Good to know.  I heard her appeals on the Radio and they were heartbreaking.  At least she is safe.  How many other children like her are already dead though is the sad question.

I donit want to rain on anybody's parade.  I'm reasonably certain this is going to end up coming up and biting me later.  But there is something about this girl's story that doesn't feel right to me.

I am seriously going to be ashamed of myself if I'm wrong.  But this whole thing just does not add up.  The city is in shambles, the infrastructure is ruined.  There is no internet because the Assad govt has blocked it all and cell access isn't possible because their towers were all blown away in air strikes so...

If I find out she's got a satphone or something I'm really going to feel like a heel.  But like I said, this whole story really feels like wagging the dog.

@stellabelle, I saw that 5 days ago. I have to start a new reply because of the 5 message rule. Please hear me - I hope you can see that I hear you! Those vlogs were not from citizens - extant truth on that! The Independent newspaper - Google!! - there is too much to ignore. As I said, being right or wrong is immaterial - we are in Nirvana compared to these people!
My problem is that I have followed The Economist, The Independent, The NYT, The Washington Post, BBC, Al Jazeera. All are compromised. Who are their reporters on the ground? The White Helmets!!!! Funded by the UK and USA. When people talk of Fake News, of course it is fake: the first casualty of war. But Assad who carries a big and I mean big approval rating, is vilified - why? You will never guess ... religion all garbed up and smelling like Mary os the Contrary variety.

Fake news want it to be confusing and hard to verify news/information/truth.  They don't understand that it ticks the awakened up that they become a growing collective > the critical mass that will crush them > fake media < one day.

I for one choose to believe this girl's story is real, because we all need something to believe in these cruel times, and it's heartening to see she made it safely out of Syria.  What a great post you've written.  I really hope Bana and her mother see it somehow and take your words to heart.  The whole world is rooting for them!
