<p>Recently I published a Blog showing the number of <strong>VOTES</strong> that have been registered on the Steemit Blockchain.</p>
<p>These registered <strong>VOTES</strong> play a huge role in the characteristics of the Blockchain and you could argue that the way the Blockchain handles these <strong>VOTES</strong> is actually more important than the Blogging tool itself.</p>

Amusing concept and possible. I do doubt however that this will happen as there is way too much transparency for Governments to be pleased about. I would love to see this concept implemented but from a critical point of view, I believe the world is too corrupt and self-serving to do this

Who knows, maybe Switzerland, the only open democracy, might set an interesting precedent.

I truly hope you are right. Really! But as a South-African, living in the 3rd world I just do not see the benefit of giving that power to the uneducated or misinformed, not to mention the corruption and influence of government that will strive to prevent this.. I would love to see examples of this taking place.

“Represented democracy” is not a democracy at all. With properly implemented blockchain, “represented democracy” (and all other intermediaries) will die, and only Democracy (today called “direct democracy”) will exist.

I think I get your point. What you are saying is that the current system is not a real Democracy but one that is fudged and Blockchain will make it a real true Democracy. If that is what you mean I agree fully. Stephen

Oh.....my......goodness. If we are still voting at all in 20 years we will have failed miserably. Using Blockchain for voting in elections ranks right up there with using blockchain for bleeding a disease out of plague victim, or using blockchain to force the evil spirits out of your head when afflicted with the humors or a migraine. The whole point of blockchain is that it could do away with politics and democratic joke governments altogether, NOT PROP THEIR REGIMES UP.   Peace out.

I simply don't understand why this technology couldn't be implemented immediately, especially for voting, whether for a TV show or for elected officials. I love how the blockchain cannot be tampered with and would definitely feel like my vote counted for something!
