Belgian Hyundai driver Thierry Neville completed his seventh career victory at the WRC championship stages by winning the Swedish Rally 2018. Triumph on five snowy special stages and three additional points for the final special stage allowed the Belgian crew to immediately 11 points ahead of the best rider of the championship Sebastien Ogier.

Clearing the way for other pilots, in total with a 50-second penalty managed to finish only in the tenth position, losing to its main competitor 5: 25.4 minutes. In fact, for Sebastien Ogier the race stopped on the first day, when he lost more than two minutes because of an uncomfortable position on the starting sheet.

Second place Rally Sweden with a lag 19.8 seconds from the triumph was won by the Citroën driver Craig Brin, and the third was finished by Neville's partner Andreas Mikkelsen, who lost eight and a half seconds to the Irishman.

In the individual classification, Neville played a backlog of 12 points from Ogier and increased his lead by another 11 points.
