For a long time I had wanted to talk about the success of Fortnite and why it is so loved by fans and the truth is that I do not see a better time than now with the recent concert that Travis Scott did in the game. This is obviously something that was done by to the current world situation, but if we go deeper into what this event means, we can also ask ourselves why Fortnite did this and not any other game, what does Fortnite have that the others games do not have? The truth seems like a response from a Disney movie, but is love. It is something that at first sigh seems a bit absurd, but here I'll explain a little bit.

Here I have already talked about various passion projects before, like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood or Roma, but I had never mentioned a game that was a passion project.

Cuphead can be called a passion project too, and truth is that, Fortnite most likely wasn't started as a passion project, but gradually got so well received that game makers started to give it more love than to any other game. Months after Fortnite came out, Apex Legends came out, and Pugb in general is more realistic in every way (only speaking of battleroyale playability games, obviously), but those games being for "being on the air" and being an option, while that Fortnite reinvented itself every season, showing us in one way or another that they never forget their game and therefore their players.

There are so many examples to talk about how Fortnite reinvents itself, such as The Avengers event, the biggest streaming YouTube tournament or the change of map that there were for some seasons, but now with the Fortnite concert it had the biggest numbers of present players since the game come out, and there is no doubt that in addition to the love that the players have for the game, it also has a lot to do with the producers own love for the project itself, and the desire to overcome in every season.
