"Old" music makes my life happy. It is interesting, today I woke up wanting to listen to relatively old music, but which in turn is timeless. Songs like Yesterday, Stand By Me or Put your head on my shouder. Obviously I'm not contemporary with those songs, so why do I like them so much? They give me a feeling of tranquility as few things do, and it is something that impresses me because it makes me feel happy; an ephemeral happiness that is only when I listen to those songs, no matter how I feel at that moment. I can use them to bathe, to clean, to wash or just to be listening to music, and still I will be happy in my world listening to "old" music.

Me dan un sentimiento de tranquilidad como pocas cosas lo hacen, y es algo que me impresiona porque me hace sentir feliz; una felicidad efímera que solo está cuando escucho esas canciones, no importa cómo me sienta en ese momento. Las puedo usar para bañarme, para limpiar, para lavar o simplemente para estar escuchando música, y aun así estaré feliz en mi mundo escuchando música “vieja”.*

Maybe it's because of a feeling of melancholy, since my father, who is no longer with me, was the one who taught me all this type of music. Listening to Every Breath you take takes me back to when I was a child and my dad, without knowing English, sang it at the top of his lungs, which made me sing at the top of my lungs too. Those kinds of songs so soft bring me beautiful memories that make me think that my life is not so difficult, and that's why I listen to them from time to time no matter what I'm doing.

Escuchar Every Breath you take me regresa a cuando era un niño y mi papá, sin saber inglés, la cantaba a todo pulmón, lo que me hacía a mí también cantar a todo pulmón. Ese tipo de canciones tan suaves me traen recuerdos hermosos que me hacen pensar que mi vida no es tan difícil, y por eso las escucho de vez en cuando sin importar lo que esté haciendo.*

Another plus is that it brings me closer to my mother. I could say that I listen to all kinds of music and even though my mom accepts it, she doesn't really enjoy it, but when I put those “junkies” my mom can't help but leave the room to listen, sing and dance, which encourages me a lot more to listen to them more often to form a bond for a few minutes. Sometimes music goes to the rhythm of your life, but other times, life goes to the rhythm of music.

>*Otro plus es que me acerca a mi madre. Podría decir que escucho todo tipo de música y a pesar de que mi mamá lo acepta, no lo disfruta del todo, pero cuando pongo esas “chatarritas” mi mamá no puede evitar salir del cuarto para escuchar, cantar y bailar, lo que me anime mucho más a escucharlas más seguido para así formar un lazo por unos cuantos minutos. A veces la música va al ritmo de tu vida, pero otras, la vida va al ritmo de la música.*
