Steemit photo Challenge #43 Entry 1 - Wasted space

The death of the paper industry in Finland has left many factories to the mercy of nature and the harsh winters mean they are torn apart and stripped quickly. The water gets between the joints and expands when frozen, over and over again each winter it pushes bricks and steel apart.

I like spending time creeping around derelict buildings and old factories. There is something beautiful about seeing it crumble and get reclaimed by the earth. I think if all humans disappeared today, it wouldn't take long to have most of our trace washed from the surface and buried beneath the silt.

All things are transient.
