Sometimes when I talk of freedom there is confusion. We are actually all free to act in any way we are able, but *anyway able* is always constrained. Like a person on a wheelchair doesn't have the same capabilities as a person with full bodily function, we are all limited in various ways, all handicapped physically, emotionally, mentally as well as economically, socially, culturally. In so many ways, we are limited.

From within those limits though, there is freedom to be our best, create our best and experience all we are able to within our bounds. There are reactions to every action, consequence to every move. We can still act, despite this. 

The Kaepernick campaign by Nike that is running illustrates this well enough.

Is it fair to be punished for belief or persecuted for standing up for it? Not at all but, we are all free to do so, all free to raise our voice or, remain silent. *Fair* is in the ability to work within our confines, not in the results of our actions. I can jump, I am never going to jump like Jordan.

We are all free to make a better life for ourselves but, rarely is a better life granted, there is always a cost to be paid somewhere. If there wasn't, we would all be living the life of dreams, a heaven of harmony where everyone has exactly what they desire. And, it is desire, that pesky root of all suffering.

To want to have freedom of all choice without input of cost is to desire the impossible because, all movement requires energy in order to shift its weight. To take what is desired at the cost of another's energy is a choice too, one that eventually and inevitably leads to revolt and violence.

We are free and we are caged. Within thay cage we have potential to move and expand and perhaps even bend the bars, weaken the lock to escape into a larger cage. We can't outgrow all of the cages for they are endless, we can only expand the space we have in which to work.

I have never met anyone who doesn't want to improve yet, I have met countless who do not examine how that may come about. We are not only limited in potential to move, we are limited by our ability to avoid, distract and sleep while the potential seeps through the cracks, runs through our very fingers while we wait, dreaming of a better life.

We wait. *Even if it means sacrificing everything.*
