The beautiful and green capital of Slovenia is one of the cutest and smallest capitals in Europe. Although it is really small, it offers you many kinds of things to do. I used to live in a small town near Ljubljana. If you kindly check my previous post about Skofja Loka, you can get to know that. As my town is really close to Ljubljana, I used to commute there really often. Every weekend, we were at the city to relax and party all night. You may wonder why I am calling this as the green capital. It surely deserves that as it is full of parks, hills and a beautiful river. Ljubljana was nominated as the Green Capital City of Europe in 2016. Ljubljana is only 4 hours drive from Vienna, 2 hours drive from Zagreb and Venice, so it is really easy to travel to there.

## WHAT TO DO IN LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana is small and it has got really peaceful atmosphere. It is possible to visit touristic attractions only in 1 day, but If you want to have the full experience of the city, you  should spend at least 2 or 3 days there. The most touristic places are Ljubljanica river and  the artistic bridges along the river. There is also an old castle at the top point of the city. It is easy to reach there from the city center only in 10 minutes. Many tourists visit this amazing city as Slovenia is a crossing point between Croatia, Austria, Italy and Hungary. I used to cycle from my town to Ljubljana and enjoy the nice weather in this peaceful city. There is one more interesting place in Ljubljana which is called as Metelkova.

## METELKOVA

My favourite place in Ljublajan is Metelkova. It is really an interesting and alternative place for visitors and locals of the city. There are many different bars, clubs and also centers for art exhibitions, so it is possible to call it as the mixture of art and night life fun. Metelkova was a military base in Yugoslavia and there are still old buildings from that period. When Slovenia became an independent country, Slovenians converted this place into something completely different. Metelkova is the center of all activities in Ljubljana. If you ever visit Ljubljana, you can see Metelkova crowded especially on friday nights. There are many youngsters and visitors having fun together. What I like most about Metelkova is that it help you to meet people from different countries as Metelkova is actuallya home to all people! ## PACK YOUR BAG AND VISIT SLOVENIA!

Ljubljana is only one part of Slovenia. I hope, I have done a good job to persuade you to come and visit this beautiful city.
