oh man, this is gonna take some doing because I have so many tracks that are guilty pleasures that people just WONT understand, I’m not sure if I’m super comfortable right now with even telling you some of them but I’ll do my best to give you some of the back story to them, these are tracks that have meant something to me at various points in my life and also get rolled out just for random WTF moments at parties to see the crowd reactions — it’s a well know fact that I hogged the decks at a friends many years back and ended up getting called DJ Mardy Bastard, not a good look.

Ok, judge the serious amount of fromage from this one but know this, this track was mainly because my daughters name is Ella and because it was damn catchy and I played this numerous times on road trips but I’ve never admitted to having this on a playlist anywhere. anytime. That is all.

ahem. moving strictly on I had to throw in this classic from beats international. it’s one of those tried and battle tested tracks that’s just got that frequency, that bass, that message, easy to follow lyrics and that is multi cultural with a bit of an ace of bass type feel to it, do you remember it?

Look, the next one maybe cringe on many levels for many of you but just hear me out, the video does not portray my liking for the song, I love the lyrics but also that slow vibes track, I think the video director must have been on some serious gear when they blew in the smoke machine into this video and why is the dude talking to dead animals? Super weird video but absolutely love this track.

If you don’t like the next track then I’m afraid we can’t be friends, simple as that, yes I know it’s from a time gone by and we will probably never see the 80’s again musically but it’s just a moment in time for me where I remember being at PEAK ANGST, it’s not a track that you play out at your friends house on single gooseberry night but it is a classic. Nothing more to be said on the topic.
