Philosophizing the Blockchain — Sacrificing Stakeholders for Better Crops

I could talk about Steem until I'm blue in the face, and I do, so for those who hadn't had enough yet, here's some more. I hold the below truths as self-evident, are they?

Finally, Let’s imagine the downvote posse gets good at #8 to the detriment of #1, and this causes stakeholders to stop HODLing, power down, and sell to the market. Would this be a bad thing, or is it the collective’s way of identifying some of its stakeholders as cancer and engaging in a form of communal induced apoptosis?

What if as these stakeholders sell, the value of Steem goes down, and fewer and fewer people will buy Steem because the new atmosphere is no longer conducive to Steem’s utility? Does this mean that #newsteem's free downvote model failed, or does it mean the community wrongfully attacked the foundation of what made Steem work in the first place?

Inquiring minds want to know, and there is always that age-old question: [Why does socialism fail every single time?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZz2HF5KtrY) If the reward pool is the commons, then why doesn’t the Steem blockchain divide it among all Steemiams equally, as opposed to giving larger stakeholders more influence? I think it is because they want the token to have a market value.

<center><code>"There once was a serpent
Who only traveled one direction: always forward, never backward.
Until one day the serpent came upon a demon.
The demon cursed the serpent, driving him insane—
Causing him to eat his own tail.
The serpent was blind.
But there were those who could see;
Who knew the serpent’s true path.
So they created a weapon to destroy the demon.
They hid the weapon in the snake’s den, where he waited for his madness to end...
But it never did.<br />For the seers discovered that the only one who could wield the weapon was the demon itself,<br />And so the serpent was doomed to circle in madness. Forever."</code>
