A job is any activity performed in exchange of money. It is anything people involve in for a living. As far as that thing pays then it is a job. There are some people who double jobs all to make ends meet.

On the other hand, a career is a series of connected employment opportunities, where you build up skills at earlier employment opportunities to move you into higher paying and higher prestige employment opportunities later on. 

In five years, you’re planning to be doing something very similar to what you’re doing now, but hopefully with more income and more interesting problems to tackle. That is a career.

> How do we view Steemit. As a job or a career?

If as a job then you are the like the shepherd who cared less about the field his flock feed. But feels fulfilled because they have gotten food to quench the hunger of ‘now’. Not to conclude there yet. On the flip side, if you take it as a career then you will do what I do. If you actually follow my blog you will know what I do.

What you can do at your level of work and learning is different from what I can do. That is because you have a biological identity that is different from my own biological identity. You also have a career identity. 

Understanding the identity is like finding the neucleus. The neucleus has a way of not proliferating into bigger things. In essence, if you identify the DNA strand that you have first of all then you know what is yours to take and what is not. 

For example, you need a job and you are asked the kind of job you want and you reply with ‘any kind of job’. Then I want to assume that something is wrong somewhere. That is a wrong statement. Personally, if I’m given such answer I’ll loose vibe immediately.

I like to get response when I am communicating. I believe communication is not complete without a receiver. I studied Economics firstly after which I started my degree at Theology because I realized that was not my career habitat. I was not made for that habitat.

I was actually average, but I don’t like things and people been average when they can be outstanding. So I tell people, why stay where you are struggling when you can be celebrated as shining.

If you know your strand, like if you know you can not seat in front of a computer for long hours of the day then why do it, or you know you can not do numbers like myself then don’t do it! 

I managed to pass mathematics but the effort and encouragement I need to summon to face a mathematical problem is different from what I have to solve a word problem.

This is because *Word is my space. Word is my identity.* 

That’s why you will find ‘this place’ the dreamland. Where all your dreams can be actualized. It is a great privilege to speak and be heard. You see, when you talk and no one is listening that is proportional to talking to yourself and we know that is not really considered ‘normal’. 

On activation of accounts, new users find it tough and stressful to keep their calm and grow but as time goes by it is always worth the while. It is like a diet. Be well fed and you’ll surely grow.

Some start with taking the platform as a job. It serves it purpose as a job perfectly. But it does not end there. The purpose usually lead on to creating a pathway to a ‘career’. It is amazing how that naturally happens. You just find yourself answering to ‘Steem’. That truly happens trust.

Next is, ask yourself, do I really hate this particular job? or have I found myself on the wrong career path? It may be that you have taken another personality up on here and it is not even working despite how hard you tried. Have you tried been original? 

Like chill, I wonder why accounts that are obviously attempting a *clone* are approved anyways. Oh! I think I got that.... It is a Blockchain.

> If you know your identity then you’ll figure why it is wrong. Is it that you have a bad boss (esteem). If you do not identify what is really bad then you can not fix it.

Determine if it is the whole pizza pie that is bad or just a piece of the whole. If you can reach a conclusion on what exactly is bad then you are a step to fixing all of it.

That means you know your path, and you have found your identity, you now also understand your work style and value. Amazing thing is once you begin to add and infuse value to many users, that is exactly what you get in return. I have consumed thousands of amazing contents since I got onboard. 

This also means that you have a clear picture of what your right career is. Now it’s time to face it.

###### *Use the segment you hate to build the one you love


Fun part is, this small part of the pie might be fulfilling a great part in the big picture. If you can not find anything that is fulfilling then you better just leave it and get out of the job.

The fact that this job is fulfilling something is good enough to stay. Most especially if that is where you are making money from. If at least this piece is getting you money then it is good enough, but the time span determines.

If you have a big picture and a plan then you decide, *this is the job getting the money, but for how long will I have to work the job.* You determine how long it will take putting into consideration the financial implication of the big picture. 

Next on is making sure that this job, which is actually part of the big picture does not take all of your time. You need to tell yourself that even if this job is getting me the money, there is still a stated time I’ll work it. Say for example the next two years. This is setting a goal in mind.

So you set to it, for this two years of job you’ll work say 8am-5pm daily. Think that is a long time? Don’t worry, because the most important thing this job is giving you is not actually the money. 

Guess what! The most important thing is wider in the real sense because with this job you will realize that you are only been paid to learn.

How? I’ll tell you.

If you have the right picture in mind, you will know the financial implication of the big picture, then you also know the skill implication of the big picture in this present job that would be relevant in the big picture.

If you have found one, with this they are basically paying you to learn that useful skill. I was on a job at a point back that made me do numbers. The platform got me doing it all again but I have gotten used to it already.

Agree with me that no matter what, when you want to build a business you need to be familiar with how it runs. Even if eventually you will get an accountant or thereabout you also need to know what’s up with your business or else they will just be slapping you up and down.

Been here, I am getting more familiar with numbers. Ofcourse you know the reason for that. Other users are familiar too. That is already a learning you are actually earning from.

This is then a job that is giving you the opportunity and making it compulsory for you to learn what you don’t like to learn and particularly earn from all of this. That is beautiful. You hate it but truth is, there is nothing we don’t get used to. 

People get used to abuse. That is a discussion for another time though. It is sad but people get used to it. It just happens that we will get adapted to it.

If numbers is what I don’t like and I need then I’ll do it. I don’t like numbers but I can get used to it if I have someone that will force me to it.

Now, this is a job that might feel difficult to work but then makes me learn what I need to know for the big picture and then I earn too. Learn and Earn.

Another thing is, we don’t all love what we need. Sick people don’t like to take the drugs that they really need. Babies don’t too.

The whole big picture of the career is not all about what you love. There will be a whole lot to do that you don’t love. Take steemit as the good space to force yourself. It is a mind thing. There is nothing we cannot all do. Use that goal to set your mind right.

Some people say the background is something to consider. True. People from my part of the world believe that there is the world and then there is My country. Believing in some sort of tougher difficulty level of engagement in building a career.

Well, this is good for you. It is a win-win situation at best on here. If you get stuck then you discover the potentials that are hanging around towards a career. 

I tell my people that the best way to describe My country is a group of people that have not been raised or socialized to think. Like I mean to identify problems. We have not been raised and socialized to explore. 

It sets off as poverty. Physically poverty means not having options. It is not necessarily not having what to eat, but it is having the same food without option of another. That’s like taking rice all day and all week.

This poverty affects the mind. We conclude that when we want something then it is only that which has been placed in front of us that we pick. How many people are socialized to explore and find options. People go on to make uninformed decisions. It is a choice because you have options.

This goes on to the kids, when you ask most of them what they want to become they say doctor or lawyer or something. Then I ask, is that really your choice? That is where they break off. I wonder if it is actually something that they dumped on them. Then it gets to a stage where they get to pick out what seems like their own best option. 

The best is the period of gap training. That is what this platform offers us all. You either learn to earn for that other career or you check out the site as an option and then find a career path in it. This path you have found will open your wave on another frequency. Then you begin to fly wavy.

*It’s steembath time* short but a powerful expression of appreciation. That was how the journey began.
